Frews Marine owner Brendon Frew, who builds aluminium boats at his Otatara business, was flabbergasted like people the world over with news the teenagers were hauled aboard the Sanford tuna boat San Nikunau on Wednesday.

Gidday Brendan / Kirsten, Been meaning to send an email for a while to say how rapped I am with the F14, it’s arguably the most modified one in the country already and has proven to be a fantastic boat. They have the best transom setup in class and are simply an excellent boat – I will continue to be an advocate for your boats if anyone is interested in having a look at mine or I’m happy to team up for a boating NZ article, I have done over 100 hours already in 5 months. I have had a lot of overseas interest in the boat. I often get caught in 20-25 knots of wind here, and it’s an excellent sea boat.
